Something I noticed about my last blog post was that I titled it March even though I used that month in the blog post before. I suppose that was a bit of a mental slip up. When I started these update blogs I titled the months based on the month I was in when I posted the blog. Usually I posted these updates on the first day of each month. But over time I sort of realised that my blog posts are largely a review of what I did in the last month. So it's a little confusing that the title shows one month, and the rest of the blog post is about the month prior. Moving forward I will just use the month the blog post is actually about. In this blog post I will talk about what I did in the month of April.
This last month has also been incredibly busy. I found a place to stay in a city close to my office. The commute is not too bad and includes a nice bicycle ride to the train station. Yes, I ended up buying a bicycle! It's a cheap second hand bicycle, but it does the job well and even has a basket for me to put my groceries in :)
Aside from a lot of admin relating to moving and settling in to the Netherlands, work has been keeping me busy as well. I'm still in the process of learning a lot and getting accustomed to my new role. After attending a convention for expats in Amsterdam I got rained on and then snowed on as the temperature dropped further. It was a magical feeling, having the wetness of the rain suddenly replaced by the dryness of the snow. I did get sick though, and that left me in bed for a few days.
This month I did not make any more progress to the 1000 paintings, but I did attend an anime convention in Gorinchem, Heroes made in Asia!
It was a lot of fun and I did manage to do some sketches again with ink while I was waiting for one of the workshops about creating Webtoons.
