Hello there
This is my update at the start of the month. I mentioned it in my first blog post.
In the last few days of August I've been restarting my art engine and working on a few things again.
I've gotten around to trying World Anvil. Yay!
Basically, it's a website that acts as a platform to meet my world building needs. Some of my stories are super short, and probably won't need much in the way of world building, but others will likely span years of development. So, I'm hoping World Anvil will help me structure my thoughts to see what I have so far, and what I need to still do.
The point of me starting the 1000 Paintings project is two-fold. First, it is a way for me to practice my art, with a focus on trying to draw anything and everything. For most of my art development since I saw Pokemon all those years ago, I've been drawing people. Mostly people just standing in a few set poses. If I'm going to be drawing web comics for my stories one day, I can't just draw people standing in empty backgrounds holding awkward and stiff poses. That would make for a terrible web comic, at least for my stories.
Second, the process of making the 1000 Paintings and sharing my journey online is meant to help me better understand social media and the internet. I wrote a lot about why I want to learn social media, perhaps too much ... so I'll save if for next month's blog post! Now, you'll have something to look forward too. Basically, I started with enabling analytics on some social media platforms.
Finally, I've also made a few more Inktober52 drawings and posted them on to Instagram, Twitter, and Minds.com. Technically I'm now up to date on the drawings part of the challenge, though I still need to post a bit more before my social media platforms are all caught up.
If you want to see all of my ink drawings, here they are.
That's it for the last few days of August. With September I will have a full month to work on my projects in my spare time. Hopefully I will have much more to tell in the next blog post.
